Title: Product Development Manager

LOCATION: Phoenix, AZ SUMMARY: The ideal candidate will be an individual with several years’ experience in various areas of insurance (individual health insurance, group health insurance and ancillary lines of insurance). This individual will lead the development process of new insurance products, or changes to existing products under the direction of the Vice President of Product Development and TPA Management. The candidate should enjoy being in a position where she or he is the “expert” and called upon to lead, give advice, make quick decisions, and act as an product advocate when required.


POSITION SUMMARY:


A background in a wide range of insurance products and coverage issues is essential in this regard (all health lines – excepted benefits, short-term medical). This expertise will allow you to assist the team in Phoenix, AZ and others within our North America division.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


• Leads the discussion for new product development with senior leadership to include actuarial, marketing, sales, legal/compliance and IT personnel.

• Experience in all aspect of insurance – product understanding, claims processes, billing, and general policy administration.

• Acts as a liaison between all teams, marketing organizations, product participants, insurance carriers, compliance consultants, etc. as necessary to ensure product completion.

• Documentation expert must be able to document detailed product designs for distribution to business partners for implementation.

• Communications skills a must, someone who can effectively present and communicate and enjoys the process via in-person, email, Skype, etc.

• Facilitates and coordinates project team meetings and documents decisions made.

• Produces status reports on current projects.

• Project Management skills – must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with ease.

• Creates Product Overview of new product to be delivered to TPA partners.

• Coordinates with Compliance on product development documents, which define and clarify procedures for all parties involved.

• Acts as SME (Subject Matter Expert) providing assistance internally and externally with product education and problem resolution as needed.

• Prepares competitive analysis on new and current insurance products.

• Assists in notifying departments about new product initiatives, rates updates and plan changes.

• Performs other projects/duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:


• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the individual and group medical insurance setting, working with a variety of plan types and insurance products.

• High school degree plus 4 years of college or demonstrated equivalent.

Title: Producer Contracting Data Entry Specialist

Job Summary


Position is responsible for the data entry of new producer contracting applications and renewals to facilitate producer appointments in all states with multiple carriers. This position maintains current producer data within the systems to ensure accurate recordkeeping. This position requires the specialist to maintain stringent productivity standards while not sacrificing quality.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


• Reviews appointment applications for completeness to ensure current, accurate information.

• Verifies producers are appropriately contracted and appointed for the specific state business is written in.

• Follows up on outstanding contracting to ensure all information is received to complete contracting and appointment processes.

• Process producer appointment requests for all Departments of Insurance offices using NIPR.

• Process background checks for producers for all Departments of Insurance offices that require background checks prior to appointment.

• Use various state websites and NIPR to ensure producer and agencies are appropriately licensed for the product and state business is being written.

• Keeps abreast of current State Departments of Insurance requirements based upon updates received from legal/compliance areas and updates manuals to ensure up-to date information is available and makes decisions accordingly.

• Create report of appointment submissions, fees per state, per carrier and provide to Accounting team for balancing of accounts.

• Provide weekly and monthly reporting to upper management that includes the number of producers appointed by carrier and state. Include detailed information to be able to assess if budget is being met.

• Serves as resource for questions related to all tasks tied to the appointment and renewal process.

• Update producer appointment renewal dates in the system to ensure the most up to date appointment information is maintained in the various administrative systems.

• Provide producers with written notification of their appointments and terminations as well as providing executed copies of Producer Agreements to the producer field.

• Act as a back up to the renewal specialist as it relates to renewing appointments by state by carrier per DOI regulations.

• Assist Producer Contracting Supervisor and Manager as needed.

• Special projects as requested by Producer Contracting Supervisor and Manager.

IHC Group is seeking Regional Sales Representatives for our St. Louis Park, MN, and Dublin, OH office. The Regional Sales Representative is responsible for calling, recruiting, training and supporting IHC's contracted producers. To distribute profitable small group self-funded, short-term medical insurance, dental insurance, discount prescription drug program, and any other programs introduced and offered by the company. This position also is responsible for coordinating all phases of sales, special projects and phone coverage, with an emphasis on achieving our stated sales goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Clearly articulate IHC's conceptual selling points to Producers and perform one-on-one telephonic and web-based product training;

• Develop and maintain relationships with Producers to uncover client needs, provide solutions, and increase sales;

• Act as a general liaison between IHC and client/distribution and identify sales opportunities unique to each Producer assigned;

• Demonstrate increased sales within the group of Producers assigned;

• Document outcome of each producer's contact in Sales' Management Software;

• Prepare and facilitate licensing, appointment, and online sales setup;

• Facilitate in gathering of competitive data, and assist with compiling competitive analysis;

• Assess the Producer's marketing strategies and business attitude to determine if they fit a satisfactory profile;

• Coach producers to adapt accurate and effective marketing and sales techniques;

• Be knowledgeable regarding competitor's benefits, rates and marketing;

• Other projects as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS


• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.

• 2 - 3 years experience in a Sales and Marketing environment.

• Previous experience in a health insurance environment, working with and presenting a variety of plan types and insurance products preferred.

• Understanding of individual health plans, short-term medical plans and ancillary benefits a plus.

• Telephone sales or outbound call center experience.

• Strong customer service skills

• Excellent oral and written communication

• Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
